"One Church; East to West: Loving Jesus, Serving Jesus, Sharing Jesus"

Sacred Heart Parish is a Catholic Faith Community of Polk County called to the Body of Christ under the patronage of The Sacred Heart of Jesus.  We are part of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese located in Bolivar, Missouri.   Together we are called to be “One Church; East to West:

Loving Jesus, Serving Jesus, Sharing Jesus.”

On August 15, 2026, we will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the foundation of our diocese (Aug. 24, 1956) during our first-ever Diocesan Eucharistic Congress to be held in the West Plains Civic Center. All people of the diocese are invited to participate in a year of spiritual preparation for these momentous celebrations. Let us entrust all these efforts and activities to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, so that we may be united in bringing the love and peace of Jesus to Southern Missouri.

Congress Registration Opened:  Register Now!

Please help spread the word that the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress online registration will open on Monday, January 12. Seating at the Congress is limited and will be filled on a “first to register” basis.

Spiritual Preparation:

Bishop Rice is encouraging all parishioners to participate in activities that will spiritually prepare us for Eucharistic revival in our diocese and for participation in the Diocesan Eucharistic Congress. Each month, you will receive a flyer with suggested resources and activities which can be used in various parish ministry groups. These can also be shared with individual families in your parish. Please download and share the January Resource Page in English or Spanish.

Holy Hour Pilgrimages:

Take a Pilgrimage and join Bishop Rice at one or more of these locations for Holy Hour in preparation for the Eucharistic Congress.

Creating a Safe Environment

Sacred Heart is committed to the mission and ministry of protecting our children and young people.  Through the Safe Environment program, our clergy, employees, teachers, and our volunteers who regularly work with children and youth have been trained to support this effort to provide a safe environment for our youth.  We believe strongly in our moral obligation to keep the young safe and provide them with a caring environment in which they can grow and flourish in their faith.

Safety: Concerns about violations of the Code of Conduct, and risk management situations such as vandalism and property damage can be reported through TIPS Online reporting system.
