Our Diocesan Development Fund Campaign (DDF) is the annual campaign for the diocese and takes place the first weekend of May after months of discussion and planning. The funds raised through the campaign advance our mission through a host of ministries that assist our families, our parishes, and our Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau. With your participation in the Diocesan Development Fund, you partner with the diocese in our mission to evangelize southern Missouri.

2026 Diocesan Eucharistic Congress
On August 15, 2026, we will celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the foundation of our diocese (Aug. 24, 1956) during our first-ever Diocesan Eucharistic Congress to be held in the West Plains Civic Center. All people of the diocese are invited to participate in a year of spiritual preparation for these momentous celebrations. Let us entrust all these efforts and activities to the Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, so that we may be united in bringing the love and peace of Jesus to Southern Missouri.
Creating a Safe Environment
Sacred Heart is committed to the mission and ministry of protecting our children and young people. Through the Safe Environment program, our clergy, employees, teachers, and our volunteers who regularly work with children and youth have been trained to support this effort to provide a safe environment for our youth. We believe strongly in our moral obligation to keep the young safe and provide them with a caring environment in which they can grow and flourish in their faith.
New Employees and Volunteers
Go to www.virtus.org, register for a VIRTUS training, review and sign the Code of Conduct, answer the Background Questionnaire, and submit the Background Check information.
Turn in the Background Disclosure and Authorization Form to your supervisor. This form is faxed to the Office of Child and Youth Protection by the parish or school: 888-820-6032.

Attend the VIRTUS training. Be sure to sign the attendance form at your training, and be present for the entire workshop to receive credit for attending.

Any suspected or known abuse of a minor must first be immediately reported to the Missouri Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline 800-392-3738 or 844-CAN-TELL; or for suspected or known abuse of vulnerable or eligible adults, the Missouri Adult Abuse and Neglect Hotline 800-392-0210.
Violations of the Code of Conduct for Clergy, Employees and Adult Volunteers of the Diocese, Parishes, and Schools may also be reported to the Diocesan Director of Child and Youth Protection, (417) 866-0841, or childandyouthprotection@dioscg.org or a Victim Assistance Coordinator.
Concerns may be discussed with your supervisor, the Director of Child and Youth Protection or a Victim Assistance Coordinator. The TIPS online reporting system may also be used, and is available on the home page of this Website.
