Reverend Scott Sunnenberg is our current pastor presiding over Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Saint Catherine of Sienna Mission Church in Humansville, MO. We have been blessed to have him a part of our parish since July, 2018. He also serves as the Vocation Director for the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese. In 2021, he was also was chosen to preside as Dean of Deanery 3. On June 24th, 2022, he celebrated his 20th Ordination Anniversary.

Deacon Jim was ordained by Bishop Edward Rice to the Sacred Order of Deacon on May 26, 2018 at St. Mary Cathedral, Cape Girardeau. Deacon Jim Farrar and his wife Ann have been apart of our Parish since 2021. Deacon Jim is teaching our Adult Formation classes and has office hours on Wednesdays.

Sacred Heart Catholic Church is located in Bolivar, MO. We are part of the Springfield-Cape Girardeau Diocese-Deanery 3. Our Church was established in 1946 and originally located at 521 N Main St. In 1958, we built our second church (now our Parish Offices). Our third and current Church was completed in 2014. Our Catholic parish family welcomes all to share in Christ and the call to everlasting life through faith, prayer and fellowship.
A deanery is a term to describe the region to which a Parish belongs to as part of the diocese. Sacred Heart and St. Catherine’s have been made a part of Deanery 3 in the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau.
