We adore You, Oh Christ, and we bless You, for by Your Holy Cross, You have redeemed the world.
Sweet wood, sweet nails, bearing so sweet a load; save us who sing your praises.
Glory be to Jesus,
who in bitter pains
poured for me the lifeblood
from his sacred veins!
Grace and life eternal
in that blood I find,
blest be his compassion
infinitely kind!
Blest through endless ages
be the precious stream
which for sin and sorrow
does the world redeem.
Lift now then your voices;
swell the might flood;
louder still and louder
praise the Precious Blood.
Mary's canticle puts an end to the lamentations of Eve.
Merciful Savior,
and friend of the human race,
on Golgotha you pitied your martyred mother
and bequeathed to your beloved disciple.
By her tears and prayers,
break our proud hearts
as we worship your cross and passion
and let us taker her into our hearts and homes,
now and forever.
